Nicolette Van Dam: The Price of Insensitivity and Ignorance...
Colombians are sick and tired of drug related jokes... and the world is finally noticing.
This week, Nicolette Van Dam, a Dutch actress, who is also a goodwill ambassador for the UNICEF, tweeted a very tasteless and offensive Photoshopped picture (supposed to be a joke) about the Colombian football team...(it is not worth to show it in my blog)
You can find the details in this link :

The reaction of the public came swift and strong, to the point that Mrs. Van Dam had no other option than resign from her UNICEF Goodwill ambassador position.
Today's technology allows us to share every bit of information across borders in a matter of seconds... unfortunately, some people still don't follow the basic rule of today's global communications... "THINK BEFORE YOU TWEET"
Colombia has had enough of enduring the never ending remarks about drugs, as if it was a funny issue for us... hopefully, examples like the one provided by the no longer Goodwill ambassador will teach a lesson to many.
